“What do you want to be when you grown up?”. This is a question we are peppered with throughout our childhood and well into our adult life. Most of us never really have an answer, and if we do it typically seems to fit some stereotypical or pre-determined answer. Does anyone ever really answer with simply – Happy? What is happy? What is grown up? I have children that I’ve asked multiple times in one variation or another – what do you want to be when you grown up? I am coming to the realization that maybe we need to redefine things, a lot of things. Maybe instead of focusing on growing up and what path that should take, may be we follow the path of what brings joy, what fills the soul and heart, what brings peace and happiness. Then let that persuade our path to a job that will also bring security.
